Tewksbury

We visited Tewksbury with John and Penny before heading to Cirencester and our B&B.

This is the magnificent Tewksbury Abby.

This is the west window.

Nearby is the Old Baptist Chapel, dating from the early 17th century.  Its complete lack of ornamentation is a stark contrast to the abbey.  Commentators have suggested that the decision of the early Baptists to worship in the shadow of the abbey was defiant or foolhardy, or both.

This is the pulpit.
